What is the difference between taylormade r9 and r9 supertri
I immediately felt in control of proceedings on the tee - although in part this was due to simply feeling much more comfortable than I did with TaylorMade's Burner Superfast model.
The adjustable element worked quickly and simply. But, as with all adjustable drivers, I think I would experiment on the range to find the setting I was more comfortable with and stick with that.
If you wanted to tinker more often then this is certainly the club to do it with and there is definitely an appreciable difference between settings. I also liked the looks which are refreshingly understated and it was hard to find fault with performance. I might be tempted to find a driver with a bit of added forgiveness but it was hard to find fault with this solid driver.
One thought though: are you paying the TaylorMade premium for an adjustability gimmick that you won't use that much? If you think that's a risk you might find more value for money elsewhere. A worthy if expensive club, the R9 SuperTri is hard to fault but also difficult to fall in love with! Another solid, for me, round as I had just one double to go against two pars and six bogies. Takeaways today - 4 of 7 fairways hit had several that were less than an yard off the short stuff , only 2 GIR but another three nGIR. Overall ball striking was more consistent and flightpaths are becoming more predictable, which "knowing" that has allowed me to keep the head down and focused on the ball.
Ended up with a 44, no penalty strokes - just a good relaxing time. Best part though was seeing my wife enjoy her round as well. Very forgiving! I think the combo of the I have a few other shafts in different flexes that im going to sleeve for it. I'll keep you posted. Did you see any difference in distance or just in shot dispersion? I saw both. Distance was maybe 15 yards further.
I'm a long and looping swinger not a tight fast one. Short and straight is better than long and wrong IMO. My shot was much more on the money than when using the standard R9 head. The is in the bag for sure. Nice to hear you've found this. I've just recently bagged the R9 too, and I'm seeing some success with it. All this after testing quite a few new drivers, so it's definitely still up there with the best.
I love my r9 at least thats the case when Im hitting it well Hit it better than just the r9, but never tried the super-tri. You must log in or register to reply here.
