The Screen Saver Settings dialog box, which works just like in the previous versions of Windows, allows you to change the screen saver and adjust the amount of time that the system is idle before activating the screen saver.

The Change Desktop Icons dialog box, which works just like in the previous versions of Windows, allows you to change desktop icons. You can further tune the Notification Area by turning off or on the various System icons and notifications.

When you select the Start Menu tab in the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties dialog box, you can configure whether recently opened files or programs are stored or displayed on the Start menu as well as customize the Start menu. However, you will find many new options including the ability to choose the number of recent items to display in Jump Lists. On the Toolbars tab, you can choose which toolbars you want to add to the Taskbar.

For the most part, the settings on these tabs are the same as they were in previous versions of the Windows operating system. When you access the Fonts window, you will see all the fonts installed in the system. The fonts with faded icons are installed but are hidden and will not appear in applications that allow you to select fonts.

I stopped Tuneup Theme service and all is great now. Today when I came to work my computer had shut of and after I had started it it was stuck in classic mode. After some googling I fount this nice tutorial and followed it. I was a bit dismayed when I saw that Themes in Services was started and on automatic so for a moment I thought that I would have to search on for an answer.

But I tried to just turn it off and on and voila! It was all nice again. The point of this message other that expressing my gratitude for this tutorials existence was to tell others with the same problem: It might look like Themes is running but it might still be wonky, so try restarting it! I opened the services. I have no clue as to why this theme fail occured to begin with as everything said it was operational. But thank you very much. I tried everything above Except the coded things, that seems complicated and I am still viewing things in classic mode.

I would like to be able to switch my themes but when I open the personalization tab they are all grayed out. Worked like a charm for me, after I tried both solutions without luck ;-.
