Yes you can so long as the game is installed on your hard drive you can run the game without a disc if you download and install a no cd crack for the game. If you have the DVD installation disc, you can install it using the disc or using the Origin digital distribution program. If you have the original release version of the base game DVD disc you can install and run it without Origin, though you will be prompted to install EADM which is optional.

The installation can even be done with the computer completely disconnected from the internet. If you already own the disc version of Sims 3, or you purchased it online from another store, you can add the registration key to your Origin account.

Download the Origin client and input your registration code to add it to your games if it was not an Origin purchase. If it was an Origin Purchase your game will be there. You will need to uninstall the physical disc copy of the game you have installed on your computer and install the game from the Origin client as a digital download. Either that or you could install the disc onto a different machine, eg a friends computer or laptop.
